ABBREVIATIONS

„Acest album este, de fapt, un volum de istorie a propagandei comuniste româneşti începând din 1948 până în 1989. Este expunerea unei colecţii personale de mărturii iconografice, îndeobşte cărţi poştale, asupra modului în care comuniştii dejişti şi mai apoi cei ceauşişti s-au privit pe ei înşişi şi lumea din jurul lor. Totul se bazează pe imagini provenind chiar din epoca respectivă, în faţa cărora cuvintele sunt adesea insuficiente, pentru că – nu‑i aşa? – o imagine poate spune mai mult decât o mie de cuvinte. Mai ales în vremurile actuale, când oamenilor abia dacă le mai rămâne o clipă liberă să parcurgă âteva headline-uri explozive sau să zapeze după nişte secvenţe video, pentru a-şi face o idee despre un subiect anume. Chiar şi un trailer sau şapoul unui articol de revistă li se pare unora prea lung, darămite să parcurgă o carte stufoasă şi doctă de istorie. Totuşi, adăugarea unor repere cronologice relevante ni s-a părut necesară pentru descrierea decorului intern şi international al acelor ani.” (din „Argument”)
